About me

From an early age I was interested in humanistic and philosophical questions, in what makes us unique and what makes us function. My encounter with the holistic aspect was very important because it allowed me to study what characterizes us as individuals and at the same time describes us in relation to our context. The concept of life force, inherent in natural therapies, revolutionized my view of physiology and led me to put into a bigger perspective what I had learned during my training in the Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Coimbra and developed a special interest in phytotherapy. I worked for some years as a pharmacist in Portugal, UK and Spain. From my experience and doubts as a professional, I felt the need to understand more deeply the origin of organic imbalances in order to better use the plants I had studied in the Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I decided to study naturopathy with the fundamentals of traditional Chinese medicine at the IFPS Roger de Llúria in Barcelona and was introduced to homeopathy. This encounter with the basics of homeopathy awakened in me an irresistible desire to study it also more deeply. I then passionately started a training in homeopathy at the Institut Homeopàtic de Catalunya. After finishing the graduation, I had the opportunity to study with homeopaths such as George Vithoulkas, Didier Grandgeorge and Ashok Borkar. At the end of my studies I was fortunate to have studied with the Jeremy Sherr, who made a very important bridge between the homeopathic vision and the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine. Moreover I received continuous training and upgrade from the veteran teacher Erik van Woensel. This was very important for me as a professional. Subsequently I also worked as a teacher of homeopathy and different specialties of naturopathy and guided students in their final projects of specialization and masters at the university UNINI and UNEATLANTICO.

What excites me about everything I have learned and my practice is the possibility of working on the basis of abstractions. I believe that all abstraction in human understanding offers many advantages. Given the enormous complexity of life, we don’t always have a way to name many things that are subtle and influence our well-being. I thus found an opportunity to connect with the language of the body through the metaphors that the body itself conveys to us, which are called signs and symptoms. These guide the therapist to the inner state of the defense mechanism. The philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine has given me the possibility to have a dynamic approach to physiology and pathology, and to go deeper into many conditions that could not be solved with conventional approaches.

I believe that human beings can only be free when they have the means to understand themselves and have the freedom to choose how they do this learning. They can only be healthy when they correctly express themselves and improve their well-being and their surroundings with creativity and passion.

From my private practice in the pharmacy and outside it, with homeopathy and naturopathy, I was able to develop my experience in a wide range of pathologies, as well as to manage with more satisfaction the cases that required the use of allopathic medication, reducing side effects.

Naturopathy and homeopathy

What is naturopathy?

Naturopathy studies the relationship between the natural elements and the body. It is based on the principle of non-harming and aims to optimise all conditions so that the vital force is at the peak of its potential.

Naturopathy is very broad and includes practices such as heliotherapy, balneotherapy or massages to activate vital functions and help the body to eliminate toxins and receive essential nutrients. It can also use oligotherapy, phytotherapy, supplementation and diet therapy.

In fact, naturism is a philosophy of life that is related to respect for nature and consequently for ourselves.

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a system based on the principle of similarity. It is based on the principle that we can reverse imbalances in a living system by administering a substance, properly prepared, that gives information about its current state.

What do they have in common?

Both aim to discover the peculiarities of each person in order to better understand their imbalances and optimise the state of the vital force.

In short, both therapies rely on the body’s innate ability to seek the most balanced state possible when the right conditions are met. The therapist becomes a mediator until the connection is restored.

The consultation

In the consultation, I am concerned with getting to know as much as possible about the person, their condition and aspirations. With this information I can do my best to prescribe and advise in order to optimise the individual’s system and establish a more desirable state of homeostasis. The idea is to work side by side with the person I am treating (and their family and/or friends).

There are four possible languages for the consultation: English, Portuguese, Catalan or Spanish.

The initial interview and follow-up can be face-to-face or via videoconference.
