About me

From an early age I was interested in humanistic and philosophical questions, in what makes us unique and what makes us function. My encounter with the holistic aspect was very important because it allowed me to study what characterises us as individuals and at the same time describes us in relation to our context. The concept of life force, inherent in natural therapies, revolutionised my view of physiology and led me to relativise what I had learned during my conventional training.

I studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Coimbra and developed a special interest in phytotherapy. I worked for some years as a pharmacist in Portugal, UK and Spain. From my experience and doubts as a professional, I felt the need to understand more deeply the origin of organic imbalances in order to better use the plants I had studied in the Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I decided to study naturopathy with the fundamentals of traditional Chinese medicine at the IFPS Roger de Llúria in Barcelona and was introduced to homeopathy. This encounter with the basics of homeopathy awakened in me an irresistible desire to study it more deeply. I then passionately started a training in homeopathy at the Institut Homeopàtic de Catalunya. I also had the opportunity to train with homeopaths such as Didier Grandgeorge, Erik van Woensel, Ashok Borkar, Shilpa Bhouraskar, Alain Duport and Flavio Briones. At the end of my studies I was fortunate to have been trained by the veteran homeopath Jeremy Sherr, who made a very important bridge between the homeopathic vision and the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine. This was very important for me as a professional. Subsequently I also worked as a teacher of homeopathy and different specialities of naturopathy and guided students in their final projects of specialisation and masters at the university UNINI and UNEATLANTICO.

What excites me about everything I have learned is the possibility of working on the basis of abstractions. I believe that all abstraction in human understanding offers many advantages. Given the enormous complexity of life, we don’t always have a way to name many things that are subtle and influence our well-being. I thus found an opportunity to connect with the language of the body through the metaphors that the body itself conveys to us. The philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine has given me the possibility to establish links between seemingly unrelated facts, to better understand the body and its needs, and to go deeper into many conditions that I could not solve with the allopathic approach.

I believe that human beings can only be free when they have the means to understand themselves and have the freedom to choose how they do this learning.

From my private practice in the pharmacy and outside it, with homeopathy and naturopathy, I was able to develop my experience in a wide range of pathologies, as well as to manage with more satisfaction the cases that required the use of allopathic medication, reducing side effects.
